A copy of the prisoner information list was provided by Susan 'Lang' Krudwig, daughter of the late Joseph D. Lang. Joe was responsible for obtaining the names of the prisoners taken onboard the Spencer after the sinking of the U-175. Below is a copy of the actual list he received from the highest ranking German prisoner.

During the exchange of gunfire between the Spencer, other convoy
ships and the submarine, Julius Petrellia, a Spencer crewman, was
struck by friendly fire and succumbed to his injuries.
